A few little known facts: At Gleneagles, there is slightly more than one staff member per guest. There are over 50 chefs in the kitchen brigade using, per year, a million strawberries, 75 pounds of caviar, over 25000 pounds of Scottish Border lamb, 3000 fresh Scottish salmon, 1.3 million prawns, 7560 pounds of Aberdeen Angus fillet steak, 10 thousand scallops, 200 turkeys, and 200 pounds of lobster. Over 1200 flowers are used each day to create the floral displays.

Over 500 tons of sand are used each year to top dress the three golf course greens. Each day, 850 sprinkler heads apply 350 thousand gallons of water to the golf courses (12 million gallons of water are held in storage lakes for the Monarch's Course alone).
